How to Prepare Your Home for a Deep Clean
A deep clean is designed to get into the jobs that regular maintenance visits do not usually cover. A little preparation helps your cleaners spend more time cleaning and less time moving obstacles. If you are still deciding what level of service you need, compare this guide with our deep cleaning page.
1. Clear Surfaces and Floors
You do not need to pre-clean, but it helps enormously if everyday clutter is lifted from worktops, bathroom edges, and floors.
That way the cleaning team can get straight into the detail work rather than spending time sorting belongings into piles.
2. Empty the Fridge or Oven if They Are Included
If you have booked inside-fridge or inside-oven cleaning, empty them beforehand. It saves a surprising amount of time and makes the process smoother for everyone.
3. Flag Any Priority Areas
Tell the company in advance if there is a stubborn bathroom issue, heavy pet hair, post-renovation dust, or a room you want prioritised above the rest.
If you are booking with us, the easiest place to do that is in the estimate form, where you can add notes before the visit is planned.
4. Think About Access, Parking, and Pets
Make sure access instructions, alarm notes, gate codes, and parking details are clear. If you have pets, it helps to tell the team whether they are curious, nervous, or likely to be underfoot.
5. Do Not Stress About Making It Perfect
The whole point of a deep clean is to take work off your shoulders, not add to it. A bit of tidying is useful, but the proper cleaning is what you are paying for.
